Staying In....

The J-Boys and I have not gone anywhere these last couple of days. We are trying to limit our running around because of the high gas prices. It really is ridiculous, I was looking at J#2's baby book the other day and when he was born 4 years ago unleaded gas was $1.43!!! Are you kidding me, we had no idea in as little as 4 years we would now pay $3.48 and I also wrote that a gallon of milk was $1.29 now you are lucky if you get it for about $3.50, talk about inflation. The thing is I don't think Mechanic Man's paycheck went up at the rate everything else did. It really is crazy!!

So all that to say that for the most part we are condensing are traveling around, we did get out and go to the Y today and I let J#1 and J#2 swim during open swim time. I have enrolled J#2 in another swim class and J#1 wanted to sign up for T-ball. He was not happy about having to play with a T, but I told him that he could learn the rest of the game better, and maybe they will have a choice for the older ones about using the T or being pitched too. His practices don't start until the end of May and J#2's swim lesson starts next week. J#1 did really well during his lessons, he is moving through the water better, but still the way he wants to, not how they are trying to teach him. I think with practice he will do better.

Oh, another bragging moment on J#1 and his math skills, he just started learning how to add double digits, so yesterday we were making brownies and he was reading the directions to me and it said "stir batter 50 times". J#1 then said, "Mom, you can stir 10 times and J#2 and I will stir 20 times each!" I still can't believe all that he absorbs.

Wow, good math skills!

My boys love swimming, too. About T-ball, around here the coaches often let a kid bat without a T if they are able to!

We're trying to limit the running around, too. Gas is outrageous. I've been walking our 5 year old to school (luckily it's only 2 blocks away!)
