The Toe Nail Fairy????

The other day J#1 asked me if there was a such thing as The Toe Nail Fairy, I started laughing and I knew what his mind was thinking. He has yet to lose his first tooth even though all his friends have and they have told him about their Tooth Fairy experience so I guess he decided since he hasn't lost a tooth, but he was about to lose his toe nail that maybe he could get some money for it. I looked at him and said "No, honey there isn't, but even if there was you will not put that gross toe nail under your pillow" :)

On another note about J#1 he continually amazes me as to how well he picks up math. When we were at the grocery store the other day this is how the conversation went....

J#1, "Mom, do you have $20."

Me, "$20? What for?"

J#1, "I'll show you."

So he takes me over to these snack cake boxes and points to the sign that said "2 for $10".

J#1, "We can get four boxes for $20!"

Me, "Wow, you did a great job for figuring that out, I am proud of you!"

J#1, "So do you have $20?"

Me, "No, we are not getting 4 boxes of snack cakes."

good call on the no "toe fairy" -- you'd hate for him to be smashing them on purpose - which is EXACTLY what mac boy #3 would do.

as for the cakes... maybe he can swing a deal for at least 1 box-- you want to encourage that math thing-- that's great (says the 1st grade teacher in me!)

Nothing like a little incentive for math! Good going J#1!

Ahhh, but there is a toenail fairy! Actually, there are thousands of them (at last count on Planet Fungeye, anyway!)

Hi, I'm John Nielson – author of the new book, "Toe Jam and The Toenail Fairies: Toe to Toe with The Tooth Fairy." I wrote the story of Toe Jam, Korn, Gout and Rucas because hardly any kids have ever heard of them!

But that's changing fast ...

Check them out at http://www.toejamandthetoenailfairies.com and tell your friends!

Reek on!
