Tax day, a birthday and an anniversary.....

Well, it is tax day and I am glad we already have that taken care of there are more important things to think about on this day for us. First of all, it is my wonderful, loving, caring, handsome (since he will be reading this) brother's birthday :) If I remember right he is the big 39 today, and as I write this he is in Iraq waiting to get back to the states. He just ended his one year contract training police officers over there and will be heading home I believe sometime within the next few days. I know he is ready and very excited to see his honey and the little one in her belly!! Happy Birthday Bubba, boy you are getting old :)

Also celebrated today is my 13th wedding anniversary. Yes, I can't believe it either. Thirteen years since I stood at the alter of the church I grew up in wearing a beautiful wedding dress with all of my family and friends looking on and in the eyes of God said "I Do" to my love. Now some days it feels longer than 13 years, no I kid, well maybe not. Then others it feels as though we are still on our honeymoon. I was thinking about the first day I met Mechanic Man we both worked at the same place, he was a driver, I was in the office. I had just got off a bad, bad relationship and the ladies in the office wanted to set me up with this driver. I remember coming downstairs and waiting to meet him and he peeked into the doorway and looking all shy with his big brown eyes, we greeted each other then I had to get back to work. The next few days he was back out on the truck and then when he came back in he asked me if I could take him home. So I did and then he asked me if I wanted to come in and meet his sister and then he wanted to know if I wanted to grab something to eat with his dad and stepmother. I was already meeting the family and we were not officially dating or even had our first date. Well, as they say the rest was pretty much history after that and we dated for a year then got engaged and was married 6 weeks later. My mom fell in love with him the first time she met him and that never changed, he could do no wrong in her eyes.

Well, here we are 13 years, 3 boys and many memories later. It has been a fun ride, none the less a ride, with ups and downs just like any relationship. I am thankful that our relationship has grown and that we have grown since we first got married. Many changes, but with our marriage based on our relationship with God we have been able to sustain those changes and move on. My parents were married for 40 years until my mother's death. I pray that we will make there and passed it. Happy Anniversary to my man and to many many more.
