A trip to the hospital...

It is not what you think, we went with the homeschool group to a hospital to take a tour. We met up with a volunteer who was a sweet lady, Ms. Von. She has volunteered there for 14 years. We started at the pediatric floor, she showed the kids what it looked like up there and to meet one of the nurses. They got to ask questions and J#1 asked where the kitchen was because he was hungry :) Then we went to the nursery and there was one little one who was only about 2 hours old. All the kids looked through the glass and the nurse held him up for them. Oh, how the twinge of an infant was pulling on me. Then J#3 started screaming and I snapped back into reality. After that we headed through the hall of the NICU and she talked about the preemies and how they are cared for, just then we hear this lullaby music and all the moms were looking at each other thinking that it was someone's cell phone and Ms. Von said, "Do you hear that? It is played over the speaker all throughout the hospital every time a baby is born!" There goes that twinge again. Then we went to visit the Chaplain and he talked to the kids and told him what he did at the hospital. Then our tour was over the kids went across the skybridge to watch all the cars go underneath them. We went back to the lobby and Ms. Von handed out some activity sheets for the kids and all the girls got a "wee-pee" which was a micro-preemie diaper, it was the smallest thing I have ever saw, it was about the size of a panty liner that is the best way to describe it. Then just as we were leaving we hear the lullaby music again, and I feel the twinge again this is not good, but then I noticed that J#3 has a poopy and he is not happy, back to reality.

I don't get that twinge anymore, now that they are all in school!

Thinking of those babies makes me count my blessings.

uh-oh...I think a new baby is in your near future!! If you're having those feelings, then your family is not complete. :)

Yeah, I'm worried about the weaning thing with Eli!! He's already better compared to a couple months ago...so maybe he won't be SO bad? ;)

My sister just had a baby (another boy, we only do boys). Sometimes I go over to get a baby fix, then when he gets fussy I just hand him back. I am over the baby twinge. Yippee!
