Day #2

Today we went to Scarborough Faire, while we were driving out there it started to rain. So when we got there we sat in the car praying for it to stop soon. Here is a pic of Mechanic Man and J#2 looking at the rain waiting. Thankfully, we only waited about 30 min. then tredged through the mud to the fair, because you know that there was no concrete in the medieval times :) We came upon an adult catapult which was like bungee in reverse where they shoot you up. J#1 was supposed to go with me, but he was too nervous so I told him that I would do it and show him it wasn't so bad, well....
I screamed my head off for the first few jumps then it wasn't so bad after that, I went about 40 feet into the air, after my stomach came out from from my throat I did alright.
Then we came upon an event where turtles were racing, we didn't really realize what a waste of time this was going to be, but Mechanic Man got picked to volunteer so it was fun watching him having to be goofy.
Here is a pic of J#1 and J#3 in a carved seat out of a tree trunk, pretty cool.
What a cutie!!!

We went to a petting zoo, the J-boys loved that.
Here is J#1 on what they called the carousel notice the lady on the side of the picture pushing the ride, all the medieval rides were powered by ladies and gents. No electricity here!! What a job and a work out at the same time.
The most exciting part was the Royal Joust. This was the knight that our section was cheering for, but unfortunately he lost :(
Here is J#2 learning archery from a villager.
Here is J#1 on the sliding joust ride, he didn't catch the ring in his lance, but he was close.

All in all it was a great day, just a tad on the muddy side and the wheels on the stroller were caked in mud by the end of the day. It only rained one more time while we were there, but we managed to make it through and the kids had loads of fun. For their souvenir daddy thought it would be great to get them their own archery set, oh what fun!!! Don't worry the arrows don't have sharp points, but that doesn't mean that they won't have to be watched like a hawk.

Wow now that was a good rain! Glad that you guys had some family fun.
If I needed someone to help out by being goofy, I would pick Mr. Mechanic also :) I'm quite impressed by your 40 foot jump too!
