Wedding/reunion

Since Friday was such a, well let's just say a wild day we decided that Saturday should be wilder. We had plans to drive to Oklahoma for the day for a wedding/reunion. All of the family went along with Papa to make the drive we left at 9 am that morning and was back by 9 pm that night. Crazy huh? Yes, I know. We made it into Oklahoma around noon and stopped and had lunch the wedding was at 2 pm. It was a Catholic wedding which I have never been to a Catholic wedding or even a Catholic church for that matter so I didn't know what to expect.

We went in and sat down and then the ceremony began with a lot of standing, sitting and kneeling which I had no idea when to do it so I just watched and spectated. Then there was a lot of "talking" back to the priest when he said something, which again I didn't know what to say and when to say it even though by the end I was catching on to that one. I grew up Baptist and we didn't say anything back to the Preacher other than an Amen!! here and there. Then there was the singing, which was a lot and silent prayer which was when J#3 decided to do most of his talking. I was fascinated watching the communion part which they called something else, but that was very ceremonial with the whole process. Anyways, the whole ceremony lasted about an hour which was more than J#3 could handle so we went out for a few minutes here and there so I didn't get to see everything. I did notice their confessional rooms or whatever you call them where they go in and confess to the priest their sins. I was very curious about what it looked like because I have never seen one except in the movies, but I thought that they might think that was sac-religious or something to do that or I was scared a priest might go into his room while I was checking it out and that would have been embarrassing so I stayed away from the curiosity.

Then after the ceremony it was reception time and boy, these Catholics know how to PARTAY!! They had a room set up just for the kids to eat, watch movies, and play games. J#3 stayed with us though because it was mainly older kids. J#1 and J#2 had a lot of fun and they had prizes and give aways, I had never been to a wedding that had something for the kiddos to do, great idea though!! We went into the adult reception and there was music, food and oh how the alcohol was flowing. One table had a few selections for wine and one table had a few selections for beer then they set 2 bottles of champagne on each table. Unfortunately it was hot in there though and I was getting a major headache. I did bust out some moves on the dance floor and I even got jiggy with J#3. Mechanic Man is not a dancer and doesn't do it often. It was a lot of fun and we had a chance to talk with family that we had not seen in a year or so. Needless to say the kids were wired and tired on the way home and were not comfortable in their seats especially J#3 so he was not happy for most of the trip. We made it and got everyone to bed. Then Sunday after church we all crashed for a nap.
