I really should have posted throughout the weekend, but with everything we did it seemed I couldn't find time so I have a lot of pics and stories to share......
First of all Friday the J-Boys and I went a friend's birthday party at Surf and Swim. They had a blast!! I am very nervous with the J-Boys around water especially with me by myself. J#3 does not like water when we first get around it and he cries. Then after a long while he finally realizes it is not so bad. I had J#3 on my hip and I was trying to control the other 2 on their inner tubes in the wave pool. I am sure it was a sight, but thankfully one of the other parents in our party helped me out. When the waves stopped we were in about 3 feet of water and the kids would play and splash. All of the sudden J#2 went under and started swimming all by himself!! He watched his brother and another friend doing it and he just did it. We went through 2 swim classes and a lot of stress to get him to finish the class because he did not like and all of the sudden he decided he would do it. Here is a pic of the older two in the kiddie wade area...

It looks like J#2 is about to loose his drawers in this picture which happened several times to both of them in the wave pool and J#3 kept crying and losing his "Na-Na" (pacifer) in the water. Never a dull moment!!
Then Saturday, we went to the Championship rodeo with some family friends. This is the same rodeo that I grew up going to and it has changed over the years, but it sure did bring back a lot of memories for me especially about my mom. She knew quite a few of the guys who worked that rodeo because they came into the service station that she managed so we got free tickets often to go. They introduced some of the cowboys and one of the "pick-up" men was the same guy that she knew and I had watched all those years growing up. He is still "cowboy-ing up" after all this time. I couldn't help, but smile :) When we first got there and sat down J#3 didn't know what was happening so he started crying....

Then--- what's this?----- he notices this place has "Hee-Hee's" (horses) and "Moo-Moo's) (cows or should I say bull's, but he doesn't know the difference yet)

Well, then he decided this place was not so bad after all. He stayed fascinated the whole time and mind you the rodeo doesn't start until 8 pm which is past his bed time. He was entranced on the action every step and never got fussy again.

Now this right here would be a picture of ALL of the kids and their parents who came down into the arena for the calf scramble. For those who may not know what that is they basically release a calf or two with a ribbon on its tail and the children run after it and whoever grabs it first wins. Well, J#1 and J#2 wanted to do it. I went down with them and as I saw all these people piling in the arena I looked at them and said, "Are you sure you want to do this?" J#1 said yes J#2 said no. I went in with them and J#1 lined up in that huge crowd and I stood to the side with J#2. But before J#1 left me I showed him what picture was on the gate we came out of and told him to come back to that gate and wait for me. I tried to keep my eye on him, but that was impossible then I had to do a dance and shield J#2 from the running calf who was half scared with all those kids running after it. When the crowds started filing past I couldn't find J#1 and I got that panic feeling. I looked up into the crowd where Mechanic Man and my dad were sitting and gave them the sign for "Where?" He shrugged. Oh, help me Lord Jesus. I was scared stiff I looked at one of the cowboys and said, "I can't find my son!!!!" He said, "Tell one of the workers there in the brown shirt they'll find him, we have never lost one yet." That is not helping me right now. I was still waiting to get through the gate when all of the sudden I see J#1 coming back out of the gate. He had went through it and was in the stands some where waiting. He was so scared and all I could do was hug him and tell him it was O.K. That is the worse feeling a mother can have let me tell you.

After that episode we ate some cotton candy and all was better. Of course what else would you give your kids at 9pm at night. This is a picture of "Whiplash" the cowboy monkey that rides the dog and corals the sheep. It was the cutest thing and the kids thought it was the best.
Then today was "Happy Son's Day" we started a tradition last year that in July we would celebrate our son's since we have Mother's Day and Father's Day we also have Son's Day. They get to choose breakfast, lunch and an activity to do after church.

Here is a pic of J#3 getting into his donut which was the breakfast of choice while admiring the card mom and dad made him. It had a drawn picture of a hee-hee and moo-moo in it. MM drew it and they basically looked the same, but J#3 loved it.

Here is J#1 and J#2 with their donuts and cards. J#1's card had a drawn picture of him playing T-ball and J#2's had a drawn picture of him on his bike with no training wheels.
Then after church we went to a place that just opened up called Jake's Adventures over at the mall and this place was fun and very crowded. We got in for a special Grand Opening price of $8 a piece which included a unlimited buffet, unlimited rides, putt-putt, laser tag, rock wall climbing and the list goes on. Since the place was packed I went into "mommy mode" and started devising a plan to get the most for our time. I had MM stay in the big buffet line with J#3 while I started a round of putt-putt with the other two then when he got close he would call me and we would join him....

After we ate then we split and I took J#2 and J#3. MM waited in the big ol' long line for the go carts with J#1. I got on the merry-go-round with them and at first I thought J#3 was going to cry, but he didn't he just had a death grip on me with one hand that is why the picture is so close of him he wouldn't let go.

Here is all of us on the little Choo-choo train.

We hit a few games and then came back around and finally MM and J#1 were at the front of the line. Here they are coming around the curve.

We hit some more games. Look at J#1's face he is serious about his games.

They also had a little toddler area that J#3 could get out of the stroller and stretch his legs.
J#1 and daddy also played laser tag before we left. I would say they had a great "Son's Day".
Like I said packed weekend of fun. Oh, by the way......

This is a picture of our table because J#3 has decided he can climb the chairs then get on the table I had to do something to stop him. I am telling you that boy is a climber :)

what a GREAT weekend... hey girl you seriously need a water sling! J#3 would do great in it.. he loves to be on your hip.. My friend that made all my slings made one and Nat actually got in it the other day at the beach! I have a mesh one for the water, it's awesome and dries fast. www.wrappedinlove.net is her site.
that's A LOT of fun!!!
very good pix too... thanks for sharing.
I remember when I was a kid I saw Children's Day on the calander a few times. It seemed like it was the 11th though...???? I'd be like, " Hey, why don't we celebrate that day?" then mom said, " Every day is children's Day".
I knew nothing about Clinton and Bush saying anything about it. ? ? ? Children's Day, was proclaimed by President Bill Clinton in October 2000. He declared that it be held on November 16th.
"National Child's Day" was proclaimed by the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, as June 3, 2001 and in subsequent years on dates in early June. In 2003, he proclaimed June 1. In 2004, he proclaimed June 6th. In 2005, he proclaimed June 5th. In 2006, he proclaimed June 4th. In 2007, he proclaimed June 3rd. I think it's cool to have special days like that. I've held Mom and daughter day, sister and sister day, lots of mom and son days over the years, aunt and niece days. I told J#1 and J#2 that we needed to have a J#1 and Aunt day and A J#2 and #3 Aunt Day. They said, " YAH!" to the idea. I like to do fun little things..make memories. Every year I make K breakfast in bed on the first day of school w/ him picking what he wants. We also have one skip day/spring fever day a year in May and turn it into a another Mom/Son day. I read about something I want to do..... A nobody's birthday birthday.....you have cake, decorate a little, can exchange dollar store presents or whatever. I think it would be a neat memory.... "but whose birthday is it mom? "
Thanks for sharing. We all love you all!!!
wow!! that was a BUSY weekend...I bet you guys were all super tired!! and when did Jordan get all that hair?!?!
Loved all the photos.
A climber, yikes, I remember it well. My #3 was the worst. (He could have used the crib the longest, but was climbing out at 14 months, grrr.) Actually, he hasn't stopped climbing!
