In the trenches......

It all started out with J#2 coughing........

fast forward two weeks and now all the J-Boys are coughing, but J#2 for the most part feels better. The other two in the last 24 hours have had sporadic throwing up because of the coughing and not really eating. Since the baby was really acting whiney I decided to take J#1 and J#3 to the doctor. It really is a juggling act when you have multiple children. Just trying to fill out paperwork and making sure you remember who had what symptoms, I was in my own personal circus. Same goes for when you go into to the exam room and the doctor comes in and he asks, "So what are we in here for?" I looked at him and wanted to say, "Look at the paperwork I just took an hour to make sure was correct with who was doing what when!!" But I didn't I smiled politely and said, "These two are sick."

Needless to say J#1 was tested for step to rule that out and it was negative. His diagnosis was mainly that he had some inflammation in the nasal passages that is more than likely allergies. J#3 on the other hand was also tested for strep which was negative, but just picture me having to hold him down on the table while the nurse sticks the swab in his mouth. Not a pretty picture and I felt horrible. Then he listened to his lungs and said it sounded rattly so he wanted to do a finger prick and also do a chest x-ray. Oh, great I thought. So two nurses had to come in to help me while I was holding him to get the finger prick, he cried of course, but threw the worse fit over the band-aid she put on his finger. He does not like things put on him at all, unless it is his idea. Then onto the x-ray room where one of the nurses had to take him in for that while we waited outside the room. He was screaming, poor baby. When I got him I just hugged him tight, my heart was breaking for him. He was so clueless as to what was going on. His diagnosis is a viral bronchitis. He wanted him to take a small dose of steriods and another medication, to make sure his bronchioles open up to help his breathing. The doctor was so nice to give me all the medications in samples from the office. Now I was glad I didn't make that smart comment earlier :)

Now we may see the light of day with feeling better, I have been coughed on a bizillion times and have cleaned "stuff". I am praying that neither I nor Mechanic Man gets sick because I can't get sick and Mechanic Man is worse than the children.

I've been sick for 3 days, and 2 of the boys are sick too....

bummer!!!

and I'm doing my best to keep everyone "away" so that we don't all wind up sick...

but my favorite line... dad can't get sick--

ah yeah, they are the WORST.

hope you all feel better soon.
