Let me preface this by first saying that I truly had no idea. About a couple of weeks ago my clothes were getting tight so I decided to work out and walk. I thought my metabolism was slowing down and I needed to pick up the pace. Then when I started feeling extremely tired this week I checked to see just how late my period was and it was REALLY late. I had not kept up with it, I have 3 boys to take care of you know, I don't have time to keep with things like that. So I decided to take a Home Pregnancy Test to "rule out" that possibility and it was POSITIVE. I thought it was wrong so I took another, it was POSITIVE.
I....am....pregnant! I still can't believe those words. I mean I wanted another baby and Mechanic Man wasn't so sure. At this point we were in the "negotiation" stage of it all and needless to say God made the decision for us. I am happy, just still in shock. I debated on telling anyone this early, because I have had a miscarriage before, but I thought the more prayers going up for this little one the better. So A LOT of people know already, including my BF's :)
Mechanic Man has been working nights and sleeping days, so he was asleep when I took the test. I wanted to tell him in a fun way. So I packed his lunch for that night and put the test in a empty water bottle in his lunch box. He heads off to work and before I went to bed I talked to him he didn't say anything. The next morning I call him and he still said nothing. So I asked him if he drank his water, he said no. I gave him a whole dialogue about how he needs more water and that he better have the water drank before he gets home. Still I never got a phone call then I hear him coming through the door and he asked the boys where I was. He asked me what was that in his water bottle, I said what did it look like. He said a negative pregnancy test, I said you need to look again and it you don't believe that one then look at this one. I asked him why he waited until he got home to ask me and he said because when he pulled in the driveway is when he was going to pull it out and drink it before coming in the house. He was needless to say shocked, but happy and shocked. He keeps saying "Four!!??"
J#2 wanted to tell Papa so we called him up and the conversation went like this:
J#2 "Papa, momma is going to have a baby?"
Papa "What!!!!!"
Papa "Are you kidding me?"
J#2 "No, that is what momma said."
Papa "Where is your momma?"
I get on the phone and he is laughing and saying that is not what he expected him to say, he thought he wanted to tell him what else he wanted from him for Christmas. Needless to say he was pretty shocked. Then yesterday, we had brunch with Aunt D, Uncle T, Granny and Cousin K. I had J#1 make her a card of our family including "the surprise". He drew a pic of all of us and me holding a baby and wrote on there "Do you know who this is?" She looks at the pic, but doesn't notice it and J#1 said "Yeah, mom is having a baby". Aunt D said that she didn't notice that part! So then I called my brother and let him and my sister-in-law know about it. My SIL said she had a feeling that was why I was calling, my brother didn't believe me that it was a surprise, you know how big brothers are.
Well, there you have it that is the news of the week over here. Pretty much EVERYONE wants me to have a girl. Me, it really doesn't matter, I truly just want a healthy baby with no complications. I have read so many blogs out there with stories pertaining to tragedies and things going wrong with pregnancies and babies that I really have to pray to end that fear. I pray for health and full development and no complications with this little one and my pregnancy. I will, of course, keep this blog updated with the happenings with this since it will be a big part of my life for the next several months. We will know soon enough if this blog gets a new name or if it stays the same!
